Service Product Engineer

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain expert level of assigned products’ knowledge and application.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of improvements to existing product designs and/or propose new products’ concepts for further development by engineering.
  • Provide engineering support to the process of modification of existing products to meet customer requirements, while retaining product function and quality.
  • Act as a technical liaison between Field Service organization, Engineering and Operations influencing and persuading internal and external customers, with a proactive and can-do attitude, about the effectiveness of the new design solution proposed.
  • Assist in resolving design related non conformities, ensuring quality processes are rigorously followed through Eight Disciplines Problem Solving (8D) and remedial actions are implemented by the CoE.
  • Identify and propose solutions to escalate any technical or project related risks.
  • Achieve expected quality standards and delivery time of service products in accordance with contractual obligations and Cavotec standards.
  • Troubleshoot problems and attempt to identify causes for warranty problems in order to prevent and eradicate repeat occurrences.
  • Cooperate with Field Service organization, Engineering and Sales departments to resolve matters regarding the warranty of sold products/solutions.
  • Support the Service Spare Parts Manager in the identification of the spare parts.
  • Support the Service Managers in the preparation of the technical document for the Field Service organization to execute the job.
  • Support Field Service trouble shooting and diagnostic, propose remedial actions providing technical Customer Service and conducting product training on an as needed basis.
  • Review and validate the assigned products’ documentation including O&M manuals.

 Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent background required;
  • Experience in negotiating international warranty contracts;
  • Worked in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
