As our Research & Development Manager, you will be leading an experienced team and are responsible for the team's development and performance.

Specific responsibilities include: prioritising projects, communicating effectively, translating demand into work packages, anticipating market developments

Your key tasks will be:

  • Secure execution of R&D projects within scope, time and budget, delivering high quality standard product designs which are fit for purpose
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and career development to the team
  • Secure multidisciplinary involvement of operational departments
  • Prepare work budgets, provide business plans for initiatives when required 
  • Deliver engineering details into the Cavotec Gate Model, working closely with the Head of Innovation
  • Ensure the awareness of customers (future) needs within the team
  • Manage the quality system and be the point of contact for external bodies regarding external audits of the quality system (e.g. ATEX- notification)
  • Manage resources, requirements and key milestones across the multidisciplinary team
  • Manage R&D systems and tools for Cavotec Norway, aligned with Cavotec Group
  • Create, maintain and expand an external network with relevant development partners
  • Integrate lean practices into R&D activities
  • Measure quality and timeliness of R&D team output, reporting planned and actual outcomes.
  • Uphold, develop, implement & maintain fully documented best practice R&D procedures as defined by internal process and external customers’ requirements

Expected experience:

  • University degree, preferably in engineering, electronics, hardware engineering or embedded Software development
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian
  • Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team in a global environment
  • Radio remote control industry experience is a big plus
  • Quality system management knowledge would be benefitial

 

Location: The position is based in our office in Hell/Stjørdal.
